What You Can Expect

sloganComing to church for the first time or on your own can be a little scary.

If you’re considering a visit to our church we’d like to help put your mind at ease by answering a few questions you might have.

What should I expect upon arrival?

On any given Sunday morning you will find a welcoming church family made up of less than perfect people from all walks of life. There will be someone from Team Carbondale to greet you at the door and offer you a church bulletin, which has all of our upcoming events inside. They can also answer questions that you have once you’ve arrived. Oh, and there is always coffee available!

What should I wear?

You’ll find people in shorts and suits, jeans and dresses. So, come as you’d like.

How long will the service last?

Both of our Sunday morning services are an hour and a half in length.

What does the service look like?

The components of our service are:

Our worship style is a blend of contemporary and traditional genres. There is a full worship band and a team of 6-7 vocalists. The words to the songs we sing about Jesus will be on the screen. You’ll feel comfortable whether you sit, stand, bow your head or raise your hands. We also have a choir which minister in song each week.

During the worship time our pastors are available at the front if you would like special prayer. There is also a time during our service where the needs of our church family are read and we pray together as a congregation.

We believe that the Bible is the Word of God and it should be read and heard and applied to our lives. As part of our worship you will “Hear the Word of the Lord” read aloud by one of our pastors each Sunday.

In accordance with Malachi 3:10 we have an opportunity to give a tithe to the Lord each week. If you are visiting with us please do not feel obligated to give in the offering.

You will enjoy a scripturally sound and balanced sermon each week. Be prepared to laugh, and to be challenged through our pastor’s preaching. He is a gifted communicator and we know you’ll enjoy the message he brings. For a taste of what you can expect, you can listen to Pastor’s sermons with the link below.

Which service should I attend?

The 9 am service and the 10:45 service are exactly the same in format, length, and style.

Are there activities for my kids during both services?

Yes. Our Ark Park (ages 0-5) and our Carbondale Kids (K-5th grade) offer graded classes during the 9 am service and a children’s church session during the 10:45 am service.
