What You Can Expect

Visiting a church for the first time can be a little scary.

If you're considering a visit to our church we'd like to help put your mind at ease by answering a few questions you might have.

What should I expect upon my arrival?

On any given Sunday morning you will find a welcoming church family made up of less than perfect people from all walks of life. There will be someone from Team Carbondale to greet you at the door and answer any questions that you have once you've arrived.

What should I wear?

You'll find people in shorts and suits, jeans and dresses. So, come as you'd like.

How long will the service last?

Both of our Sunday services are an hour and 15 minutes in length.

What does the service look like?

The components of our service are:

WORSHIP
Our worship style is a blend of contemporary and traditional genres. There is a full worship band and a team of 6-7 vocalists. The words to the songs we sing about Jesus will be on the screen. You'll feel comfortable whether you sit, stand, bow your head or raise your hands. We also have a choir which minister in song regularly.

PRAYER
There are times of corporate prayer throughout our service.

OFFERING
In accordance with Malachi 3:10 we have an opportunity to give a tithe to the Lord each week. If you are visiting with us please do not feel obligated to give in the offering. An offering box is available at the Information Desk for those attending in person.

SERMON
You will enjoy a scripturally sound and balanced sermon each week. Be prepared to laugh, and to be challenged through the messages of our pastoral preaching team.

Which service should I attend?

Both services (8:30 and 11:00) are exactly the same in format, length, and style.

Are there activities for my kids during both services?

Ark Park (ages 0-5) and Carbondale Kids (K-5th grade) offer a children's church session during both the 8:30 am and 11 am service.

What does an Assemblies of God church believe?

As part of the fellowship of Assembly of God churches we ascribe to these 16 Fundamental Truths.
